DAVIDDEGELIN

The series depicts a single cormorant living in the abandoned buildings of the old Stella Artois beer brewery near the small river port in the Belgian town of Louvain. The exploration of the different dimensions of the beauty of solitude is a constant factor in my work. I choose the cormorant, as the resemblance, to its dinosaur predecessors is so striking and for me, and it provided another angle on the solitude, as the last survivor of a dying species.
